Tips

  • An easy way to always have contact with the English language is to have your browser’s start up page set with an English language webpage such as http://www.newsinlevels.com/ or (more challenging) http://www.bbc.com/news . Thus, the first thing you will see when you switch on the computer is something in English.

  • Don’t be afraid to speak English to foreigners: they also make mistakes in Spanish or any other language they have learned. It’s normal part of the language learning process that never ends. The only way to improve a foreign language is by using it. If you don’t use it, you’ll lose it!

  • Watch your favorite series, movies or cartoons in English without subtitles, or put them in English.  This is a great idea especially if you don’t like the dubbing of movies and series. It’s a win-win because you are learning new words and phrases while watching something you really enjoy. It helps you practice your listening, and you always learn something new that helps to  improve your vocabulary.

  • Learn the lyrics to your favorite English song, or one that you really like.  This helps a lot because it never feels like something you have to do. You will learn to sing the song and understand what it says and enjoy it more.
